.... can anybody advise me how to update the links automatically (the auto update bullet IS selected) and stop the dialogue box telling me that links cannot be updated from appearing? Thanks in advance.
Are you using Copy from one sheet, place the cursor on the target cell, then Paste Special, Link?
This is Excel 2003.
If you're receiving that message, be sure that the sheet name has not been changed in any way.
If you are updating links between different workBOOKS, then all workbooks involved in the linkage must be open at the time links are updated.
