I just want pictures to alternate in order one by one. It's for my MySpace. For example, i want image1 to show, then image 2, then image 3, and so on.
No Javascript please. Just HTML if it is possible.
For MySpace, you'll have to try to make a flash slideshow. PhotoBucket has a slideshow maker. Upload all the images you want to use, set up the styling you want in the slideshow, make it, then copy the code needed to post it on a web site.
Ron
It's not possible, since HTML is what is, it doesn't do things. (It's content, not programming.)
You could make an animated gif - one picture that's a slide show - or you could use Javascript.
download multi-image slide show free, then convert it into a .gif (file>gif) file and uplode it!
it is not possible without javascript

Dear you appears to be Newbie.
There are many things you need to know if you want to do all yourself;
1. if you know just html, your site will be static and not dynamic, you need to learn server side coding langauge like asp, asp.net, or php.
2) if you want to use login feature and anything which requires you to store information you should know how to work with database.
3) You dont need to know about dns server. Just pay and purchase a domain name and webspace. depending upon you choice of server side coding language you will have to select to host you site on linux server or on windows server. You can contact net4india, ewebguru manakhosting etc
4) You can visit my site at www.opensourcenuts.com - which is still under developing stage.
5) You will have to work fultime on you site or you need to hire someone else you site will remain under development.
6) you will have to think ways to promote your site else it will remain in the dark corner of net.

Domain name is basically a "nickname" for your server, usually web, but could be mail, FTP, and so on.
Instead of a pure IP address, like 206.190.60.37, you can type in yahoo.com. And a browser would know where to go.
A DNS server then translates yahoo.com to the IP address, so your whatever program will know who to really talk to.
To put a website on the Internet needs three things: the domain name itself, the server actually hosting the content, and the actual content.
HTML is the content.
Got all that?
Without more details about this "free domain site", it sounds like they are giving you a free domain, but no server (the "hosting") to go with it, which is why you have to enter all that.

What do you do if you find 2 best answer. . . ?
to a question you posted. Is there a way of giving 50% to each?
Hello,
There is no way to give half the points to each user. I also completely disagree with the above poster - people who don%26#039;t mark answers frustrate me. People always go back and vote for their own answer anyways so the end result may not be the proper response.
When I mark the answers to my questions, I usually pick the best answer that was posted first - a lot of times people who are further down the list just take what someone above them said and rephrase it.
Good Luck!
No, choose one or the other.
I virtually always choose the FIRST right answer, but only if neither includes a LINK. Any best answer should include a good Link.
TIP: In other words: Vote for the 1st answer, that worked, to resolve your problem.
No, just don%26#039;t give it to any of them, and allow everyone else to vote so it%26#039;s much easier for you.
Also, this is the incorrect section.
You just pick one, usually the first best answer, unless mine is one of them, then you pick mine! :)

PhotoBooth background won
I have a Mac, and there is the program PhotoBooth, which basically takes pictures of you. It gives you an option to select backgrounds such as clouds, dots, fish, etc., then tells you to step out of the frame. I do, but when I step back in after the background has been detected, the background gets all splotchy, with parts of my room and the selected background showing. Help? What can I do to get the backgrounds to work?
the wall behind you must be clean (with no pictures or things on it)
I have got a mac too.

Whats wrong with cbitw-layouts.com?
if i go to the site, it just goes to godaddy.com.
whats up?
Oh dear...first of all, it's definitely not hacked. No offense, but that was an uneducated response that provides no help at all.
GoDaddy.com is a hosting company. If cbitw-layouts.com is redirecting to GoDaddy.com, it likely means that the site has no content, therefore all the content has been deleted or moved for some reason. It could also mean that the website owner hasn't paid hosting fees, therefore having his/her account disconnected.
If you're concerned about why, you can send an email to GoDaddy.com support. If you do a WhoIs lookup, at www.whois.net, you may be able to find the email address of the owner and ask them what happened.
There's not a whole lot you can do. If you contact these people, you'll hopefully be able to find out what's wrong. I hope this helps.
ummm hacked?

All panels or close panel or undock panel.
What does this word "panel" mean?
I want to know what it means exactly.
Thank you very much
A "Panel" is basically an area with a bunch of tools you can use. These tools are grouped together in a panel so that they are easily found and nicely organized. You can drag and drop the panels to your preference, and you can close, dock, and undock them. To close them, you just click on the X, and it will disappear. To dock/undock, just drag and drop.

Excel problem! I have several spreadsheets in a suite that have problems with updating linked cells....?
.... can anybody advise me how to update the links automatically (the auto update bullet IS selected) and stop the dialogue box telling me that links cannot be updated from appearing? Thanks in advance.
Are you using Copy from one sheet, place the cursor on the target cell, then Paste Special, Link?
This is Excel 2003.
If you're receiving that message, be sure that the sheet name has not been changed in any way.
If you are updating links between different workBOOKS, then all workbooks involved in the linkage must be open at the time links are updated.

How much would people pay for this?
Hey!
so im an amateur graphic designer like i haven't had any formal training or anything but im actually quite good at it lol i know that doesn't sound convincing in the least but i really am
so i was thinking i could set up a website where Up-and-Coming artist could come and have there own domain name such as www.graphicdesign.com/upandcomingartist
and i would design there page for them and they wouldn't have to pay me unless they were satisfied with the site
or for a lesser amount people could buy there own domain name like
www.Upandcomingartist.com
and i would design it for them
anyway how much do you think people would pay..and do you think they would pay at all?
I haven't seen your designing skills, but I do see that you have no idea how domain names work.
I wouldn't pay you anything.
well...for starters www.graphicdesign.com is already an in-use domain name. adding /upandcomingartists doesnt do anything. it would just refer to a folder/page within the graphicdesign.com site.
www.netfirms.com is where you can purchase domain names...you may want to look into figuring how they work because if you say your a "great" designer and have no idea about websites...your credibility tanks.

In ms access, how can i extract all characters except the last 5 of non-uniform long string?
Combine the Left() function with the Len() function.
The Left() function takes two parameters, the first is the string, the second is how many characters to return.
Use the Length of your string - 5 as the second parameter of the Left() function to return everything but the last 5 characters.
Left(mystringvariable, Len(mystringvariable) - 5)
//
You should look at substr() and think about combining it with length()

I have a Dell Monitor and an Acer Aspire E300 PC. I want to change settings from DTA to DVi. Please help. Thx?
I have just purchased a new Dell monitor and was supplied a Dvi cable to connect to my Acer Aspire desktop computer. I need to change settings on my computer from the DTA cable to Dvi. Please could you help. Thank you.
Never heard of "DTA."
If you want to connect a computer to a monitor's DVI input, your computer needs to have a DVI output.
The Acer Aspire E300 should have a DVI port, since it is supposed to come equipped with an nVidia 6600GT video card. Just plug one end of the DVI cable that came with your Dell monitor into the graphics card DVI port, and the other end into your monitor. (And remove the VGA cable you were using before. You don't need it.). And that's it.

Do facebook regulars have no life?
Im probably not the only one to notice this, but why on earth do people post messages such as "just got up, feeling tired today", or "just making dinner", for all your friends to see on Facebook? What is the point of such mundane crap??!! On the rare occasions I have been on (and that was only to track old school mates) I see this kind of stuff every time. Who is actually going to be interested? You wouldnt text or ring someone to tell them you have decided to do housework or cook dinner or something would you?
haha i agree with you the things they write on there are so stupid like i saw got an upset stomach right now and making bacon for breakfast okkkkkkkkk like I want know that lol xD
Its just a light hearted way of staying in touch. I use facebook regularly and in a way its like keeping a journal which im sharing with my mates. Its just harmless fun and if you dont like it dont look at it.
I would question if u had a life having to ask a question like this?
and I do have a life im a mum of 3 who works full time with a good social network whcih has expanded since using facebook.
That's what facebook is about. To have a laugh and a chat with everyone, and anyway it's free so why not? BUT posting questions like this to find out such useless information is on the other hand 'mundane crap'.
it drives my dad crazy that people he knows update from their phone, "oh, i'm going to pick up the kids" and stuff like that. If I update mine, I only change it maybe 2 times a week.
Suuuure they have :P...
How they don't have a life :P and they keep regularly updating their photos ;)...
:P I guess now they have life because of Facebook so they can get subjects and pictures to comment on.
I use it to keep in touch with Friends and family abroad, when i check other people i know out all they have been doing is either hanging out their dirty washing in public or sending their Friends sausages or fish for god knows what !
I don't hava a Facebook acc anymore as I got bored of it but it used to make me laugh reading what everyone was doing. Some of it is cr@p but some posts are funny. x
I don't understand. But maybe you have no life when you spend all ur time on facebook.
yes im one:(
yahoo and facebook and youube :(
lol im only 15 tho
Yes, they have no life.
People are strange. I guess they think their "friends" want to know these things. Lame.
your right, the just wanna tell everyone show bored they are

How do i turn an internet filter off?
I know how to change the proxy settings so that i am not going through the filter. If i turn off the filter while i am connected to my home network it won't load up any webpages, it just stays white. How do i set it so that i don't have to have it on to browse the internet at home.
What filter?
From the sounds of it, you have your firewall set to block all internet access.
Open it (the firewall) and start adding programs...like Internet Explorer (or whatever browser you use).
If you have to, find a Geek you can trust and have him or her come over and check your network settings.
On the other hand, if you're a minor and you're using the home network. Ask your folks to open-up the Parental Controls some.
Good Luck!

How do you cancel out when you put
So on myspace i want to put yon one word centered and i dont know how to make words that are after that not centered,,..
any help?
after you type <center> (then word) --type</center>
and thats it!
how simple is that? just remember "/" means end of something.
</center>
You use a closing tag. In this case you'd put </center> after the word.
for ex: <center>Hello</center>

How Do I Address Envelopes Using The Windows Vista Word Processor?
Are you using Microsoft Works or Microsoft Word? And what year?
The fastest way to get an answer is to type the name of the word processor and its date (Works 2003, Word 2007, etc.) and Address Envelopes in the "Search for questions" box in the green bar on any Answers page.
How you do it depends on which word processor you're using. There's no "Vista Word Processor". Some computers come with a trial version of Microsoft Office, but once the trial ends you're left with the pretty large additional expense of buying the program. (You can download Open Office for free, and save yourself the expense - and its envelope utility is a bit nicer.)
using microsoft word go to Mailings then select create and chose envelopes/labels... the rest is obvious.

What happens when you take the battery out of your computer?
it will reset your bios to fail safe settings (optimal defalt) and resets your date/time
from a laptop, if its turned off, nothing
from a desktop, if u have one of those emergency power things, then it will just turn off, and nothing
if ur talkin about the little clock batteries on the motherboard, then it'll delete the time...
There should be no assumtion here. If it's a laptop and that's the battery removed? No big deal.
If it's the little battery from inside a computer, BIOS RESET.
Well, the power goes out...no really it shuts down the computer improperly and can result in data loss. Its not recommended if the computer is not already shut down.
If you are talking about a desktop motherboard battery, then it will reset the time and reset all the basic BIOS setings to manufacturer's default values.
You have a Battery in your hand, and NONE in your computer... Other than that, nothing to exciting.

Can i use a 9800 gtx and a gtx260 in sli?
can i use a 9800 gtx for physix and gtx260 for graphic rendering?
You can't use them in sli, but you can use the 9800 for physx and the 260 for main rendering.
No, they're completely different cards, not even the same gpu, so they won't be compatible.
no but you could use a 9800 gt and a gtx 250, as they are the same cards.

How do I use a scanner?
I bought a new 3 in 1 printer, copier, scanner but don't know how to scan. We have Windows Vista for our operating system. I am wondering if somebody can please tell me how to scan photos, documents etc into my computer and what program do I need to be in if any to do that?
1st step is to install the supporting software, that is provided in CD-ROM with your 3 in 1 machine... Then after installing your drivers and supporting software... then put your desired paper or the document in you scanner, if it is flat based then it will be like photocopy... if not then the document will be inserted like the other pages that are inserted to get the print outs... But difference is only this that printing papers are inserted beneath the tray and document to be scanned will be placed up on the tray of your machine... For More information... See the manual of your machine that is most probably provided with your machine as you can learn things easily... Thanx....

Can i fix my corrupted jump drive?
i don't want to go buy a new one, can i fix it or is it useless now
Plug it in, go to My Computer, right click your jump drive, and format it. If that doesn't work, then it is pretty much useless.

How do I disable my Gaia Email alerts?
OK, so unfortunately, I can't cancel my Gaia account, so I don't even bother going on it. BUT, I'm sick of getting Gaia alerts through my Email 'cuz I don't care about them. So, how do I disable Email alerts (if there is such a way)?
log onto gaia and under 'my gaia' there should be account settings, under there you can disable email alerts.

Does any1 know how to use Nero 7?
i downloaded this program and i would like to put some movies i have on my computer onto a blank dvd, how do i work this program in order to do this
Nero generally comes with a number of programs. If your movies are mpg files or avi files, you can't use Nero 7 itself to create a video DVD.
However, Nero usually comes with Nero Vision. Nero Vision will take the video files I mentioned and convert them into a form that can be used to create a video DVD. It will burn the DVD also.

Why aren
I mean they barely even sell 4:3 monitors anymore. I have a 22%26quot; widescreen, great for videos but its pointless for websites since websites are designed for 4:3 monitors I have about 40% of the monitor unused.
Because peoples eyes tire rapidly when they have to continuously sweep left to right horizontally over a large range. Very fatiguing to read text. Slow too.
The same reason that a letter on an standard 8.5x11 inch piece of paper is always written with the long side vertical.
Wide screen is good for video content and not much use for much else.
And even at that...too much video and TV content ends up letterboxed.
Backwards compatibility. Many 4:3 monitors are still in use these days. Plus modern widescreen LCD%26#039;s tend to have higher resolutions than the monitors of yesteryear. If you don%26#039;t like it, you can always align your windows side-by-side... People with 4:3 monitors with limited resolution at say 800x600 or 1024x768 can%26#039;t really do much to adjust the content of a window that%26#039;s designed for a 1280x800 monitor.
Web pages aren%26#039;t designed for any particular aspect ratio, most are solely designed for width. The limit on the length of a web page is usually how fast the page the page can load and the content for that particular page.
Web pages have to be designed to be assessable to a wide range of monitor resolutions, the standard monitor width until recently was 800 pixels, nowadays 1024 is the more standard screen width and so most sites are now designed for this, but even then, you%26#039;ll find the actual page width is narrower than this - usually not much more than 800 or 900 pixels.
Long lines of text are difficult to read so you%26#039;re unlikely to see many designers writing sites for wider screens anytime soon - especially as most people still use their computer monitors not TVs for viewing websites.
Good question. I%26#039;m only guessing here, but I%26#039;d say that whilst most new PCs come with widescreen monitors, the great majority in use are still 4:3. I%26#039;ve seen a few websites that fit the widescreen nicely, but I agree most still have a lot of spare space. I have a few websites myself and have only centered them so far....
It%26#039;s impossible to detect what monitor a computer is using, because if you used some kind of script for this on the website, then this would be illegal - infringing privacy or something.

I went on MTV.com on Sunday night to watch a streaming show and I had some unexpected company come over so I just walked away and let the episode play. I've restarted my computer multiple times and I no matter what I'm blocked somehow. Does anyone know whats going on and why over night I'm blocked from MTV.com?
I think it's something wrong on their end, not yours. MTV.com isn't working for me today either.

Does computer build kits come with DVD/CD RW?
Do I have to buy it separate?
Or should I just have an external DVD/CD RW?
Do they make blue ray DVD/DVD/CD RW?
There isn't "A" computer build kit (as in only one). There are many kits. Some do some don't. Check out www.TigerDirect.com and look at their barebones kits.

Best external hard drive for an iMac?
I'm looking for an a cheap (sub $125) external hard drive used for back ups and some videos for my mac. I don't need anything over 250 gb.
Any of them will work. I am using an old Western Digital 250G external that I have had for a long time. Look for the best price.
You ask what is the best external hard drive for an iMac, then you limit the price to $125.
So which do you want? The best cost more than $125.

Are blue ray DVD worth getting for your computer?
I don't watch much high def.
I already have a 52 inch Samsung LCD TV and a Playstation 3.
Is it worth getting for my computer?
Blu-Ray is the 'next big thing', to the DVD as the DVD was to the CD, a way to store a lot more on a single disk. But at this point the technology is still very expensive. You don't really need it for anything, so I would say just wait for the prices to come down. Which they will. Perhaps by next Christmas Blu-Ray will be as cheap as DVD is now.
Might not be worth adding on, but if you're purchasing a new Laptop i would suggest buying one with a Blu-ray player. Eventually you're going to be disgusted at the fact that your lap top can't play the same media you're playing night in night out on your PS3.
maybe a burner for large backups.. nothing else. if you already have the ps3 i dont see a reason to have another BR-rom

How much is this worth?
I have a Dell latitude D810 notebook 2ghz intel centrino processor
2 gigs of ram
100 gig hard drive with 60 gig extra hard drive
drdrw drive
spare media bay battery included
After market video card upgrade from the max 128 MB ati card to
NVIDIA Quadro Go FX 1400 256 MB Card.
I just purchased a new Alienware notebook and I am looking to sell this.
What do you think I can get for it?
If you hant to sell your computer for a good price that price will be from $400 dollars to $500 considering the ram mamory and the 100 gig hardrive
The longer you keep the less it will be worth. Be sure to reformat your old laptop and clean it up completely. I've heard of identity thiefs looking to buy old computers and then going deep into the computers to steal passwords, and online banking information.
I would list it at $300 and take nothing less than $250 for it.
If the apearane is in good shap and you can sell it to some one locally, then you can sell it for $400 easily.
Your laptop ios rather unique with an aftermarket card installed and it is a good one by the looks of it.
Hope this was helpful
...at least $ 375, depends on working condition though.
Looks like around $400 on e-bay right now.
even tho its kinda old.. its not so bad.. i would say 300-400 bucks maybe... ebay it.

Reselect uTorrent download?
How do I reselect the files I want to download in uTorrent?
Say I'm downloading a TV show. I open the torrent, select to download the first season. After the torrent finishes, how do I reselect another season, without deleting the torrent?
Highlight and stop the torrent. While the torrent is still highlighted, click on the "Files" tab on the bottom of the screen.
You will see that the priority on the 2d season is set to "Do not download". Highlight the files you now want to download and then right-click on one and set Priority to "Normal".
It is a good idea to leave the 1st season as this will enable you to upload to other Peers and they will upload to you and should help your down speed.
If you are not keeping the 1st season, then you should move the files out while it is stopped and set all those to Do not download.
Either way, then right-click the torrent and select "Force Re-Check" and when that is finished, start the torrent.
