I know how to change the proxy settings so that i am not going through the filter. If i turn off the filter while i am connected to my home network it won't load up any webpages, it just stays white. How do i set it so that i don't have to have it on to browse the internet at home.
What filter?
From the sounds of it, you have your firewall set to block all internet access.
Open it (the firewall) and start adding programs...like Internet Explorer (or whatever browser you use).
If you have to, find a Geek you can trust and have him or her come over and check your network settings.
On the other hand, if you're a minor and you're using the home network. Ask your folks to open-up the Parental Controls some.
